KES Winter Break Reading Challenge Winners Announced
KES Families: This message is to advise of a fire alarm sounding earlier in the day today, January 14th. This was not the result of a planned fire drill as these are typically deferred during the winter months due to inclement weather. Specifically, the alarm sensors were reading excessive heat in a restroom in the Morgan Street Building which consequently set off the alarms. This was cause for concern to the staff in charge, and students and staff briefly evacuated. Shortly after, district maintenance staff was made aware of the incident and completed a check of the units. At that time, we were advised there is no cause for concern. Please accept our apologies for exposing students to the cold temperatures, but know that their safety is first and foremost our main priority.
