November Breakfast and Lunch Menus

Survey will go out later this month to see sustains and improves for possible changes with menus beginning in December

Students in Grades 9-11 are invited to come talk about barriers to youth engagement in their communities.

PHS Biology classes and the HSTA club would like to thank Robert Sypolt and Bernie and Linda Coyle for talking to our students about the American Chestnut and taking us on a tour of the Waddell Orchard located on PHS campus. This was a very educational topic, and we enjoyed learning about the chestnut and other flora growing on our campus.

We also want to thank the American Chestnut Foundation for recording a video at the orchard that we all watched to learn more about the American Chestnut blight and what is happening at our orchard to help the trees survive. The video features our very own Robert Sypolt, along with Mark Double and Amy Metheny.

Just a reminder that today, the 14th at 6p in the PHS Media Center is a meeting of the Local School Improvement Council (LSIC). This meeting is open to parents, community members, students and staff who wish to participate and work towards continued improvements at PHS.

The West Virginia Advisory Council for the Education of Exceptional Children (WVACEEC) would like to hear from you.
The WVACEEC is a group of individuals from across the state that gather throughout the school year to listen to the concerns of parents, families, and community members regarding the education of exceptional students, and share those concerns with the WV Department of Education (WVDE), the WV State Board of Education (WVSBOE).

You’re invited to meet with us in person on Thursday October 23, 2025 at Phillip Barbour High School 99 Horseshoe Drive, Phillippi, WV, from 5:00-8:00 pm.

You can come if you're already part of another 4-H Club or the teen leader organization.  The high school 4-H club will focus on facilitation training, service to the community and developing leadership skills.

West Virginia Prevention Solutions is hosting a Youth Focus Group in Preston County on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 6pm at the Preston County FRN Conference Room in Kingwood.

This session is a chance for local high school youth to share their perspectives on what's working, what challenges they face, and how communities can better support them.
