Next week is testing week across Preston County for students in Grades 3-8. These students will be taking the WV General Summative Assessment (WVGSA), which is an online, end-of-year standardized test. It measures how well students are meeting the state's content standards for English Language Arts (ELA), math, and science. The WVGSA is used to assess student progress and inform instruction. Please take note of these testing tips below, go over them with your student, and ensure they get plenty of rest each school night.

Preston County lends itself to some cool opportunities for our students. Where else in this great state can you be seen driving your tractor to school, greeting students along the way? PHS students who are a part of the Preston County FFA participated in the 2nd Annual "Drive Your Tractor to School Day" today. They were cheered on by KES students, community members along the route, CPMS students, and PHS students and Central Office Staff. (More to featured on WBOY this evening and from the Preston County Journal)

On Friday May 2nd, students from multiple CTE concentrations had the opportunity to attend Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations' Career Day. Students were given insight into what a potential career with Beitzel and Pillar could look like for them. They all had a great time discussing career opportunities, trying out the excavator and dozer simulators, participating in the drone presentation, playing cornhole, and touring the working shops.  We'd like to thank Beitzel Corporation and Pillar Innovations for this great opportunity.
