Even though we didn't place at the top in the Science Showdown on Feb 23rd, our 2 teams scored very well and represented Preston High School very well. Celebrate CTE Month Feb 2024 - Preston County Schools and the West Virginia Department of Education celebrates February as Career Technical Education (CTE) Month highlighting the growing importance and impact of CTE programs statewide. WVDE CTE offers programs in elementary, middle, and high school as well as 22 CTE centers and 7 multi-county vocational centers statewide.

CTE Month, established by the Association for Career and Technical Education, began in the 1980s and brings public awareness to accomplishments of CTE programs and students. In the Mountain State, the WVDE continues to expand the reach of career exploration to students from elementary to high school as well as to adult learners. By exposing younger learners to the 16 national career clusters, they participate in project-based learning that expands their understanding of the pathways available to them.
