Breakfast and Lunch Menus are available on the app for August and below. Just a reminder that all Preston County Students eat for FREE. Students that bring a cold lunch and want to purchase a milk, the cost is $.35. For adults in the building, visitors, volunteers, and/or staff, the prices are: Adult Breakfast: $3.50 and Adult Lunch: $4.50. September's menus will be up the week of the 26th, so parents can plan accordingly. Prior to the September 30th Professional Development Day, surveys will go out for parents and students to fill out as it relates to child nutrition and meal service, and those sustains and suggestions will be discussed among the child nutrition director, cafeteria managers and cooks during their PD day. Girls' Squires Soccer Grades 6 to 8:
The coach of the newly formed unified middle school girls' soccer program will be having an informational and parents meeting this Wednesday, August 14th beginning at 6:30 PM at the grass soccer fields in Kingwood. A short practice will follow. Please bring sports physical forms along with soccer gear. If interested in playing this season, please plan to attend.


Opening day professional development activities for Preston County Schools staff is scheduled for Thursday, August 15th at PHS. Doors open at 7:45 AM. The Mountain Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry will be located at the Kingwood Civic Center Parking Lot tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 11-12:30 for distribution. Please see the attached informational flyer.

Special Education Parent/Guardian Focus Survey:
If you are a parent/guardian of a PCS student with an IEP (Special Education Individualized Education Plan), please take the time to complete the survey at the link below. The staggered start schedule has been updated on the Preston County Schools website, with an alternative staggered start sent to the Rowlesburg staff and students. This schedule did not include PK and K. Those teachers will be conducting visits during the staggered start and will inform parents and students of whether their student will attend on either A or B day. More information will following in the coming days and weeks.

PRESTON COUNTY SCHOOLS FALL HEARING, SPEECH & VISION SCREENINGS
PLANNED:
Preston County Schools will be conducting hearing, speech, language, and vision screenings in our schools. Screenings are scheduled to take place August 28 through October 13, 2024.
Students will be screened are as follows:
• All students entering school for the first time who have not been screened at school.
• All students who have been referred for re-screenings of hearing or speech screenings from the previous year; and
• Any teacher referrals for screening.
Parents will be notified if any student should not pass the screenings.
