Bruceton School Academic Boosters are sponsoring the annual meat raffle. Students are each receiving a book of tickets to sell. All tickets and money need to be returned by October 31st. If you are unable to sell the tickets, please return them to the school as soon as possible so they can be sold by others. If you need additional tickets, please let your child's homeroom teacher know. A big thank you to Clear Mountain Bank for donating the market beef and market hog for the raffle.
The Bruceton Middle School Cross Country teams went down to the Doddridge Middle School Invitational to compete on Tuesday. Doddridge is largely considered to be the unofficial Middle School State Championships.
On the boy's side, the Bulldogs place 9th as a team. Tyler Parks led the race through the mile and hung on for 2nd place, the highest finish ever for a Bruceton runner at Doddridge. He ran a 12:41 in an incredibly competitive race. Eli Parker helped the team points with an impressive 21st placing. Colt Spiker hung on for 61st, followed by Jackson Wotring in 77th, Enzo Richards in 116th, Alex Rankin in 127th, and Callen Jenkins in 142nd. In the JV race, Jacob Heubi placed 48th and Owen Shay placed 122nd. All together there were 307 boys finishers.
On the girl's side, the Bruceton Girls placed 12th as a team led by 6th grader Sadie Williamson in 54th place with a time of 17:04. Next was Brooke Smith in 62nd, Grace Losh in 78th, Colleen Eisentrout in 85th, Bailee Waybright in 101st, Rilynn Wright in 105th, and Kelsey Jenkins in 135th. There were 251 competitors in the girls races.
It has been a great season for the Bulldogs. They have one more race on Monday when they compete at Central Preston for the Preston County Championships.
