Thanks to all who participated over the winter, both students and staff, and many thanks to Titan Roofing for supplying our staff overall winners with gift cards. Student prizes provided through state wellness grant. Congratulations to all of our winners who will receive their prizes the beginning of next week.

Just a reminder that today, the Preston County FFA chapter will be hosting the 2nd annual “Drive Your Tractor to School Day” that will allow FFA Members to drive their tractor to school. All tractors will depart from Kingwood Elementary School at roughly 8:30. From there, Tractors will drive to Preston High by the following route: High Street, Route 7, then Route 26 to Preston High At roughly 1:30 p.m., tractors will depart back to the Fire Man’s Field and be hauled home that evening. To those traveling these areas today, please plan accordingly and allow extra time for travel. We also ask to use extreme caution when passing tractors! We would like to thank the citizens of Preston County for their cooperation!

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday, the 9th, is a two-hour early out for students. Staff will have professional development and meetings, but students will be dismissed two-hours early. Again, tomorrow the 9th is a two-hour early out for students.

State Testing for Grades 3-8 begins next week in Preston County Schools. Please see the link below for an informational letter from State Superintendent Michelle Blatt. We celebrate our teachers today and everyday. We all have those teachers that touched and shaped our lives, and our students are lucky enough to be experiencing the beginnings and endings of that now. Today may be teacher appreciation day, but we appreciate you all everyday. Thank you teachers.

Just a reminder that 8th grade will be traveling to Prickett's Fort tomorrow.

This Summer we will continue to run a couple of camp offerings for our middle school students. We'll be having both a culinary and wellness camp for grades 5-8 in July. These will be capped at the first 20 kids per week for cooking and 30 for wellness.

We have several pairs of glasses that have been found around the building and grounds that no one has claimed. If any of these are your child's please stop by the office to pick them up.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week across the country, and we may be biased, but we believe that Preston County Schools has the best. For our teachers, there's no such thing as just a 40 hour work week, or summers, weekends and holidays off. These selfless individuals work tirelessly year-round as they're dedicated to the education of our youth and working to ensure our students are successful beyond the classroom and become the good people we know they are and can be. We thank our teachers this week and every week, and ask that you join us this week in celebrating our PCS Teachers.

Our Preston County Schools' Cooks are simply the best!!! They work tirelessly, at times short-staffed, without complaint, and always with a positive attitude, ready to serve our students and ensure full bellies, ready to tackle the school day. We can't thank them enough.
