Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball Defeat East Preston Eagles Behind Strong Performance From Landon H struck out 14 batters as the starter led Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball past East Preston Eagles 13-2 on Friday. Landon H allowed one hit and two runs over six innings while walking three.
Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball amassed 14 hits in the game. Jacob D went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Candin W, Landon H, Braiden B, and Emery W each collected multiple hits for Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball. Candin W, Landon H, Archer T, Braiden B, Jacob D, Emery W, and Kayvin R each stole multiple bases for Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball. Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball stole 16 bases in the game. Bruceton Bulldogs Baseball were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.

Yesterday was the first ever Scholar's Summit hosted at PHS by PHS Staff and Students, spearheaded by Colson Manko and Mrs. Katie Rush. 14 teams from 6 schools competed in the summit consisting of 6 events worth up to 700 points; Math, Science, English (Speech and Essay), Quiz Bowl, and CTE Concentration - Aurora (2), Bruceton (3), Central (3), TAEP (2), South (1), West (3).

This week, Mrs. Everline’s class compared “The Three Little Pigs” and “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.” Students explored how point of view can completely change a story. To wrap up the lesson, students used Ozobots to map out the path the wolf took in the story.

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Thursday the 17th, begins Spring Break for students. Students do not report back to school until Tuesday, April 22nd. Preston County Schools wants to wish everyone a nice extended holiday weekend and a Happy Easter.

Today marks the first-ever Preston County Scholar Summit, an academic competition designed to offer a new academic opportunity for middle school students. Several teams from all Preston County middle schools will compete in bracket-style academic contests throughout the day for the summit, which aims to provide middle school students with a chance to engage in teamwork, collaboration, and social development . We will be live streaming events throughout the day on Facebook (PCS Page), beginning with the Welcome at 10:00. Tune in to Facebook throughout the day to see students compete in English, Science, Math, Quiz Bowl, and a CTE concentration. The Quiz Bowl Finals and Awards will be this evening.


Congratulations to the Bruceton Bulldogs Track Teams. The teams competed in the Preston County meet #2 on Monday. Before the meet was rained out, Tyler Parks place 1st in the mile and set the school record. Paxton Berger and Isaac Copen place 2nd and 4th in the High Jump, tying the school record.
Josie Higginbottom placed 1st in both the Shot Put and the Discus.
Braden Armstrong place 4th in the mile with a new personal record.
Paxton Berger also placed 3rd in the 400 meters and 3rd in the 100m Hurdles.
Miranda Poe placed 4th in the 400 meters and Eileen Parks placed 6th.
Kelsey Jenkins placed 9th in the 100 hurdles.
Callen Knox placed 3rd in Shot Put and 6th place in Discus
Thomas Rogers 8th place in Shot Put
Isaac Copen 7th in 100 meters
Noah Belanger 8th in 100 meters and a 7th grade school record
Kylie Frankhouser 3rd in Discus and 7th in Shot Put
Paisley Schnopp 4th in Shot Put and 10th in Discus
Riley Hagedorn 5th in Shot Put
The Boys Team will be back in action tonight at Westwood, and the Girls will compete tomorrow night at the Girls Knight Out meet at Preston High.


Preston County Schools and the West Virginia Department of Education is honored to announce the 2025 Golden Horseshoe winners for Preston County. Since 1931, students have been honored as Knights of the Golden Horseshoe having demonstrated exceptional knowledge of West Virginia History on the state administered exam. This year, 223 winners will join the ranks of WV citizens who have won this prestigious award. Preston's 4 winners will have an opportunity to be recognized at the Golden Horseshoe ceremony on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the West Virginia Culture Center in Charleston, WV. Congrats to these 4 amazing students.

Sir Chester, Preston High School's therapy dog, visited Mrs. Herring's class for a Pupperoni Pizza Party to celebrate them having the highest attendance rate in March! April's class prize for the highest attendance is an ice cream party.

This Wednesday is the last day to donate to our student council food drive. Our students are working to help the Bruceton Food Pantry re-stock.


Students in grades 3-8 will take the West Virginia General Summative Assessment (GSA) May 12th through May 15th. As like in past years, students must complete all their GSA tests before attending end-of-year field trips.
