Just a reminder that the building will again open for students at 7:05 and the tardy bell rings at 7:30. Dismissal begins at 2:18.
The 2022-2023 Bruceton School Yearbook is being distributed this week. Unfortunately, we have no extra books this year, so only those who pre-ordered will be receiving them.
Students in last year's 8th grade may stop by the office to get their books between 8:00 and 2:00, starting on Friday, August 25th. Any of those students with siblings still attending Bruceton School can expect their books to come home with those students.

Parents, please remember your children will need clean, non-marking PE shoes (tennis shoes) that will stay in their classroom (elementary) or locker (middle school) and only be worn in PE. If you have a financial need, please let your child's homeroom teacher know and we will try to assist you.
We hope to see you at tonight's Back to School Bash from 5-7. Concessions will be available for purchase to support the 8th grade class. Middle school students can pick up their class schedules at the information table in the breezeway. Parents of students in grades 5-8 can also pick up their parent Schoology access codes, if they need them, from the information table in the breezeway as well. If you already have a parent access code for Schoology, it will remain the same for this school year and you won't need a new one.

SNAPCHAT: Does your child use Snapchat? It's a popular app with teenagers used for creating multimedia messages referred to as "snaps" that consist of a photo or a short video, and can be edited to include filters and effects, text captions, and drawings. While the premise behind the app seems innocent, it can lead to problems if used inappropriately. With school about to start, be sure you are up to speed on all that snapshot offers (good and bad).
Snapchat offers extra protections for 13-to-17-year-olds, including requiring teens to be mutually connected or in their respective phone contacts before they can start communicating.

❗️FAMILY AND FRIENDS ONLY: Tell your teen to only invite and accept Friends on Snapchat if they are friends in real life or family members. Encourage them to check their Friends List regularly to make sure they still want to be in touch with each friend.
❗️LOCATION AND PRIVACY SETTINGS: Talk to your teen about their location and privacy settings. At Snapchat, privacy settings are turned on by default, so people can only see the things you want to share, for as long as you want to share them.
❗️IN-APP REPORTING: Make sure your teen knows how to use our in-app reporting tools and that we don’t tell Snapchatters who reported them. These reports go directly to our 24/7 Trust and Safety team to investigate and take appropriate action. We also offer reporting tools on our website for those who don’t use Snapchat – which any parent can easily use.
❗️THINK BEFORE YOU SEND: Remind your teen that, as with sharing anything online, it’s important to be really careful about sending anyone – even a partner or close friend – personal or sensitive images and information. Snaps and Chats may delete by default, but there are ways to capture images from a phone or other device without a person’s consent. This is true despite Snapchat sending a notification in some instances when a screenshot is taken.

Also, don't forget about Kindergarten Parent Orientation and 6th Grade Academy this Thursday from 5-7 and Back-to-School Bash this Friday from 5-7.
Elementary class lists are posted by the main office entrance. 6th grade students who attend 6th Grade Academy will receive theirs at the event. 7th and 8th grade students who attend Back to School Bash can receive theirs there. Pre-K lists should be finalized later this week.

With the start of school a week away, we wanted to share our parent drop-off and pick-up diagram and procedures.
Today was orientation for new staff members. Our new staff was able to have lunch with some of our existing staff who are helping them settle in. A huge thank you to 4Daughters Roofing and Cupcake Me Home for providing lunch for everyone!
