Currently, there is a reported power outage at Fellowsville Elementary and in the Fellowsville area related to a downed tree along Route 26 that has damaged a pole. Arrangements are being made to provide meals at lunch time and to get water onsite as the fountains are not currently working with the outage. At this time, school is NOT being dismissed early and the school will be dismissed on a regular schedule.

Educational Leave for Buckwheat Festival.
If you are a livestock exhibitor or a member of the Jr. or Sr. Court you need to fill/print out an Eduational Leave Form and have your teachers sign off and turn into the office
Due to a road issue along Route 26 North of Albright, Bus #128 (Cody Elliott) and Bus #25-23 (Paul Hart) in the Kingwood Area will be delayed by approximately 45 minutes this morning.

Due to paving issues, the Snyder Crossing Loop Road and Oaks Loop between Kingwood and Tunnelton will be closed from August 25 through August 31st. During this closure, Bus #63-15 will PICK UP these students at the intersection of Route 26 and VFW #826 parking lot at 7:00 a.m. DROP OFF for these students will be at 2:50 for elementary/middle school students and at 3:30 p.m. for high school students.

The WV DHHR and WVDE have received approval from USDA to issue Summer P-EBT benefits to eligible student and non-student populations. This will be a one-time Summer feeding benefit valued at $391 per eligible child. Summer P-EBT will be deposited onto the child’s WV P-EBT card. The state will not utilize the Mountain State EBT card for Summer P-EBT.
Eligible students are those that were enrolled during school year 2021-2022 in a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program as of May 31, 2022 and qualifies for free or reduced-price school meals.
Eligible children not yet enrolled in school are those that are under the age of 6 and reside in a household that receives SNAP.
Any child under 6 who becomes eligible for SNAP, or any individual student who becomes eligible for free or reduced-price meals (during the covered Summer period) will be deemed eligible for Summer P-EBT and will be issued the full benefit in an exception process at the end of the covered Summer period.
Students at participating schools who did not qualify for free or reduced-price meals during 2021-2022 school year and have experienced a change in status that could deem them eligible for free or reduced-price meals, should contact their county or school child nutrition contact to complete a free/reduced-price meal application before July 31, 2022.
Households can expect to receive the one-time benefit this week (Week of August 22nd).
All eligible households will receive a letter with important information before the benefit is issued.
West Virginia estimates Summer P-EBT will be issued to approximately 255,000 children, drawing down nearly $100 million in additional federal funding.

Preston County evening shuttles runs from August 23, 2022 for the reminder of the 22/23 school year.
Preston County Schools will be conducting the fall speech and audiology screenings/rechecks in our schools. Speech/Hearing screenings are scheduled to take place August 29 through October 12, 2022.
Students who will be screened are as follows:
(1) All students entering school for the first time who have not been screened at school.
(2) All students who have been referred for speech or hearing re-screenings; and
(3) Any teacher referrals for screening.
Parents will be notified if any student should not pass the screenings.
