This is an important message regarding the Preston High School Band. It is not too late to join the Preston High School Band! Our new Band Director, Mr. Nose, is working on building the program and is asking that any student who has been a member of the band in the past, especially incoming Freshmen students who were in middle school band, to come to Preston High School Band's summer practices to give high school band a try this year. The band has a very exciting schedule for this year, with many performances throughout the state. Full band practice is scheduled for Thursday, July 13th from 6:00-8:00pm. Beginning Monday, July 17th, practices will be held Monday through Friday from 9:00am-2:00pm. For more information regarding the band schedule and shuttle buses to the school, please visit the Preston High School Music Department website on the PHS website or you can also find the link on the PHS Music Department's Facebook Page. The time to apply for new and continuing transfers from one county school to another within Preston County Schools is here! Please complete the online form for each individual student separately at this link: https://forms.office.com/r/A0zbLzQLMT Your request for an in-county transfer is contingent upon certain conditions including class size enrollment. Should this grade level exceed the maximum capacity of students enrolled from this attendance area at any time during the school year, it may be necessary for your child to return to the school in your home district area. This request form does not indicate that Preston County Schools is approving the transfer, nor does it indicate that Preston County Schools will provide transportation as required by County Policy 11-13. You will be responsible to provide the transportation to and from your child's school, if approved. Additionally, if your child should have excessive absences or tardies, then this approval will be reconsidered during a CA2/School Attendance Review Board meeting at the county office. You will receive a letter in the mail by the end of July providing your approval or denial.
