We have received notice from Frontier and the West Virginia Department of Education that internet and phone service is again down at all district schools and the central office. The outage is again related to a cut fiber cable and has impacted multiple school districts and governmental buildings. An advisement will be issued if service is restored during the academic day. We apologize for the inconvenience. .

Upcoming Important Dates relating to days off or early dismissals:

May Menus:
You will notice multiple cook's choice days, which will also be each day in June, so no menus will go out for June as all are cook's choice. Cook's choice are used to either be efficient with inventory to limit on waste, or to try new items, or bring back old favorites. You will also notice that there are two "pre-packaged" days. These shelf stable meals will be tested by students, with a survey for students to follow. In the future, these will be utilized for field trips, brain freeze days and emergencies when there may not be staffing. These meals DO meet USDA school lunch requirements. If utilized more in the coming years, on those days, schools will still also provide salad bars, or other supplemental items. As always, if any questions or concerns as it relates to school meals, please direct those to Justin Hough, Director of Child Nutrition and Wellness, at jhough@k12.wv.us.

This project aligns with Preston County School’s mission to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every student can achieve academic success and personal growth. We are committed to empowering students to overcome challenges, foster resilience, and develop essential life skills that will help them thrive both academically and socially. By partnering with families and the community, we strive to inspire a love for learning and promote the well-being of each individual, preparing them for a positive and successful future." “We are deeply grateful to the West Virginia First Foundation for believing in our vision and supporting our work,” said Dani Kelley, Extended Learning Facilitator for Preston County Schools. “This grant allows us to expand our current AEP program and enhance the well-being of our students.” Together, we are making strides toward a healthier and more hopeful West Virginia.”

At this time, internet and phone services are down at all district schools and central office. Frontier has advised that this is a wide-spread issue in WV and another state. We have not been provided with an eta on a restoration of service. We apologize for the inconvenience.
