An informational meeting for any current 5th, 6th, and 7th grade student interested in playing Squires football will be held on Thursday, May 18th at the Central Preston Middle School at 6:00 PM.

The following is an update on after-school and other extracurricular activities. Little Learners is cancelled at all locations, there will be no athletic practices at Preston High School and the status of the girls' lacrosse game will be communicated by the coaching staff, at Central Preston track practice is cancelled and pitchers and catchers for the softball team will practice in the Gym from 4:30 - 5:30 PM, at Terra Alta / East Preston there will be no athletic practices, but the Book to Movie event will proceed at 5:30 PM in the gym, at Bruceton the track team will practice at the school from 4-5 PM and the status of softball practice will be communicated by the coaching staff, at West there will be no track practice and the softball team will practice in the gym at 5 PM, finally at Aurora there will be no practice sessions or events at the school.

Preston County Schools will be closed Wednesday, May 3rd & today will be a “Brain Freeze” Day. Students do not report; however, staff reports on a 2-hour delay. Bus drivers should contact the bus garage for any requirements. Sub personnel is not to report unless they are specifically directed to do so. All schools will be open from 10 AM to 12 PM for students who need help & lunches will be served from 11:30 AM to 1 PM. Administrative sessions with Karen Cagle, scheduled school data meetings, & the CTE Craft Committee Meeting will proceed as scheduled. The status on other extracurricular activities will be announced later today.

Good evening West Preston families! This is a friendly reminder that the 7th grade field trip is tomorrow, Monday, April 24th. If you submitted all forms and money to chaperone, we will be meeting in the cafeteria starting at 7am. 7th grade students will report directly to the cafeteria upon arrival at school. The buses will leave promptly at 7:45am and return around 5:30pm. Students should dress appropriately in layers, bring a lunch if one wasn't requested, and money for anything extra. Chaperones that are riding the bus must park behind the school near the field. Thank you and have a great night!

Preston County Schools will be dismissing two hours early today due to potential flooding concerns in multiple areas of the county. All after school activities are cancelled including grasshopper basketball. Staff is to remain in the buildings until confirmation that students have been delivered home safely.

Happy Pi Day from West Preston! In honor of Pi Day, we are doing a "Pie a Teacher" event to raise money for the West Preston playground. The event will take place on Thursday, March 16th during the school day. Students can pay for a chance to pie a teacher. Each chance costs $1. Money can be given to each homeroom teacher through Thursday morning. Thanks for supporting this fun event for a great cause!
