Due to anticipated winter weather conditions, Preston County Schools are cancelling all afterschool activities for tomorrow, Monday, December 18, 2023. The scheduled Board of Education Meeting at Fellowsville has been postponed and will be rescheduled. The rescheduled date and time of the meeting will be announced as soon as possible.
Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Monday, December 11th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other students & staff will report on a 2-hour delay. The data meeting at Aurora will be postponed and the meeting time for the Terra Alta meeting will be shifted to 11 AM.
Good evening West Preston families! This is a friendly reminder about our Ornament Party tonight (Dec. 6) from 5-7pm. We have several stations for students and families to engage in! There may also be a visit from a jolly man in a red suit! We hope to see you all there!
There will be informational meetings for all 7th grade girls who are interested in being a junior princess in the 2024 Buckwheat Festival. The meetings will take place on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5th at 6:00 pm at the Community Building in Kingwood. You must attend one of these meetings if you would like to participate. Hello West Preston families! We hope you had a wonderful weekend! This is a friendly reminder that picture retakes will take place on Monday, December 4th starting at 8:15am. Wednesday is our annual Ornament Party from 5-7pm! There will be a ton of stations for students and families to enjoy! We are also having spirit week days for the whole month of December! This week we will do the following:

Tuesday- Candy Cane, wear red and white
Wednesday- Wear a sweater
Thursday- Wear your hats, scarves, and winter gear
Friday- Wear your festive bling, lights, or sparkle
West Preston School Testing Incentive Program winners for the Fall 2023 are: Braleigh Bissett, Mila Swestock, Aubrey Shaffer, Wesley Mauzy, Traytin Hovatter, Deanne McGowan, Paigelynn McDonald, David Taylor, and the grand prize winner for the gift certificate to our generous donor Old School Pizzeria was Brantley Nichols. These students demonstrated outstanding testing behaviors and motivation during the most recent iReady diagnostic test. We are so proud of all of our students! Keep up the good work!

The Preston Squires Middle School Wrestling Team will have its first practice on November 6, 2023, at Preston High School right after school. All Preston County Middle School Students Grades 6-8 are welcome to participate. Transportation has been coordinated from all Preston County Middle Schools to Preston High for student athletes who wish to participate.
