We will have spirit days with Monday - pajama day, Tuesday - sports day, Wednesday - kindness day/dreaming of kindness, Thursday - career day/dream of my future, and Friday - Marvel Day/you are marvelous. April 22nd, originally part of Spring Break, is now an instructional day as we have to make up a snow day. Students and staff will be in schools that day. Also, due to missing so many days, February 7th is no longer a 2 hour early dismissal. It will be a full day. Any additional days will be made up after May 30th.

Good evening, Eagle families. A couple of updates to this week. During our basketball games on Friday night, we will recognize our 8th grade students. There is also an additional game this week against Central Preston being played at Preston High School on Saturday. Boys will play at 12 pm and girls at 1:15 pm. Next week is National School Counseling week. We will have spirit days with Monday - pajama day, Tuesday - sports day, Wednesday - kindness day/dreaming of kindness, Thursday - career day/dream of my future, and Friday - Marvel Day/you are marvelous. A couple of reminders for this week - we may have phone interruptions on Thursday during our new phone installation and Friday we will send home report cards with students. Due to road work, tree-cutting, and other issues beyond our control, the following bus routes will be using alternate stop locations this afternoon. These are for Bruceton Area, Terra Alta, and PHS students. Bruceton - Bus 29-23, Brett Slage and 22-21 Gerri Shaffer will be using alternate stop locations. In Terra Alta, Bus 121, Bruce Ragione will meet parents in the Cranesville, Afton areas at the White Oak Church.

Preston County Schools is currently doing an overhaul of its phone system. With the new system has come changes in employee extensions. Listed below are the new county office extensions. Schools will begin updating as their new systems are installed. If you reach an error on an old extension at a school, just place a "3" in front of the old number.

Good evening, Eagle Families. This week at East we have the following: The money for the Marianna's fundraiser for band boosters is now due. Pick up will be on February 12th. The girls and boys basketball teams play at home this evening against Central Preston. Gate opens at 5 pm. Please bring correct change. Admission for adults is $5. Students under the age of 12 in attendance must be supervised by an adult at all times. Students over 12 who are dropped off must be picked up promptly at the conclusion of the game (late pick-ups can result in suspension of attendance privileges). Students must remain in the building and will not be readmitted if they leave the building. As a reminder, we do not allow food or drink in the gym. The girls team only will play Wednesday evening at 5:45 pm (again gates open at 5 pm). Please consume concessions in the cafeteria. East will be receiving a new phone system on Thursday and may have phone line interruptions throughout the day. Report cards will come home with students on Friday. And finally, on Friday, both girls and boys basketball teams will play at home (against Covenant Christian School). Gate opens at 5 pm

West Virginia ranks in the top five spots for childhood obesity in the nation. Day-of-Play encourages children to engage in physical activity and live a healthy lifestyle, whether at school, playing with friends, or spending time outdoors. Day-of-Play wants to lower the rate of childhood obesity in West Virginia. It is a free event happening in Morgantown, West Virginia on March 8th, 2025 at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility.
