
Rowlesburg School will be closed on Friday, February 24, 2023 for needed repairs to be made to the school's septic system. All after-school activities are cancelled on Thursday, February 23, 2023 as well. Students will not report on Friday and any required assignments or activities will be communicated to students and parents by Thursday. Rowlesburg service personnel staff are to report to Felllowsville School at their regularly scheduled time. Professional staff may report either to Fellowsville or to the BOE Offices at their regular time. This message is from Preston County Schools.

We are planning on having a career day at Terra Alta East Preston School for all students. If you would be willing to volunteer to talk about your occupation, we would appreciate you taking your time to share your knowledge with our students. Eagles, Saturday Feb 25th is the last day to sign up for Grasshopper Basketball. 3rd and 4th grade Boys can sign up this Saturday at the TAEP School gym from 9a.m. - 2p.m. or call Leslie Bolyard at 304-288-6446 for questions and details.

Just a reminder that this Thursday from 4-7 is our rescheduled Parent/Teacher conferences. Our Eagle PTO will be serving a hot dog dinner for all who come out to participate. We look forward to seeing you Thursday.

Track practice will begin tomorrow, Feb. 21st. Any students in grades 5th - 8th grade may participate. The 5th grade only, are to do one event per meet at Preston High. Talk to coach for more details. Coach Hart asks you to bring your physical form, water, running shoes and clothes. Practice will be after school until 4pm and then ride the high school bus home.

The Elementary Valentine's Dance is this Saturday from 6-8 in the cafeteria. Parents will need to actually come in and sign their kids in and out with an emergency phone # , pre k- 5th ONLY. And only TAEP students. There is no charge... FREE pizza, cookie, water. Hope to see you all there.

Girls Grasshopper Basketball practice will begin tomorrow, February 15, 2023. Any 3rd or 4th grade girl that wants to participate will stay after school to practice until 4pm.


Due to the facilitators chaperoning a school trip, there will be no after-school explorers on Wednesday, February 15th, or Thursday, February 16th. After school explorers will resume on Tuesday February 21st. Sorry for any inconvenience. Again, No ASE until the 21st. See you again Tuesday.

8th grade parents:
Today your child scheduled for high school courses for their freshmen year with the high school counselor. Please see and review the pre-registration form that your child completed today. Once it is completed, both your child and you need to sign this form and return it to me by Tuesday, February 21st. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Durst with any concerns or requests.

Softball Flex practice will begin Tuesday, February 14th through February 27th from 4pm to 6pm. This is a great time for 6th through 8th grade girls to learn about softball and team techniques. February 27th tryouts will start and all 6th through 8th grade girls need to be present. Come and join us this season!

Just a reminder that tomorrow night is our 8th graders last regular season home game to be played as Eagles. Let’s send them off with all showing their Eagle Pride. Tomorrow will be gold and blue day at school, and all our 8th graders will be recognized at the end of the girls’ game which begins at 5:45. Remember, all youth league players, kids and students get in free and all other fans are buy 1, get 1. Let’s pack the stands and send these kiddos off soaring high.

Due to a cancellation from Kasson, our 8th Grade night is now postponed to Thursday against Trinity and cancelled for tomorrow. We will still do youth night with free admittance for our youth league and students, but now on Thursday, instead of tomorrow.

Eagle family: Please be aware that we do not serve breakfast on 3 Hour Delay instructional days like we had today. Our first lunch is served shortly after school begins. Please make sure that if hungry, your student eats at home before coming. Sorry for any inconvenience and if meals are ever an issue, please reach out as we have programs to assist with this.

TAEP will be participating in National Hot Chocolate Day tomorrow during lunch. Students may choose with their hot lunch meal, at no charge, a hot chocolate instead of cold milk. If they wish both, the cost is 35 cents. Students eating cold lunch may purchase a hot chocolate for 35 cents. All money should be paid at the time of service. Please have exact change.

Please join us this Wednesday as our Eagles take on Kasson at home and we send our 8th graders off as we celebrate each of them. We also want to thank the place where it all starts, so all youth league players and students will be getting in for free, so slap on your blue and gold and come out and root on your Eagles.


Tomorrow’s scheduled 2nd quarter LSIC meeting will be rescheduled for about a month from now. The date will go out this week. With the main topic of concern being behavior, we will be instituting a new program at school, so are planning time for initial implementation and reporting back. Sorry for the inconvenience. ASE is starting back up tomorrow. Again, After School Explorers resumes tomorrow, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience and delay. It will run Monday through Thursday from 2:25 to 4:25, and a reminder that parents must pick up their students because busing is not available.
