We have been made aware of an issue getting onto TEAMS on the 1:1 K-2 iPads. The email address that prepopulates is incorrect, but it is an easy fix. Here is the video that expains what changes you need to make ONE TIME to get the issue corrected. https://youtu.be/0_yuZ6Ey8M0 If you have any questions you can contact your child's teacher or Darla Moyers via email at darla.moyers@k12.wv.us

The next time you receive a text message from PCS it will come from 98900 and NOT 98901 and it will automatically send a CTIA compliant opt-in OR opt-out text with necessary disclaimers. So carefully read your next text message. (This message was not sent as a text.) If you are not receiving text messages yet it is because secretaries are in to process of changing phone numbers from the Online Information Form you filled out.

Our 4th and 5th graders, not even born at the time, were given an incredible account of the tragedy and heroics of 9/11 from someone who responded to the aftermath without hesitation as part of his sworn duty as a firefighter and first responder. Now living in Terra Alta, Tony Amato is a true testament to the story of 9/11, and we are so thankful that he continues to take the time each year to educate our students about that tragic and fateful day. May we never forget.

As we further investigate and contact trace a positive case of Covid-19, the Dolphins Football Team and Mrs. Grose's 4th grade class will need to quarantine tomorrow. In addition, the football team will also be out on Monday. More information will follow, as well as if and which students may return Monday, Tuesday or later dates. Again, if your child is either a member of the Dolphins or in Mrs. Grose’s 4th grade, they are to stay home tomorrow and await further instructions from either the school or Health Department.

This is change from an earlier message. At this time, Bus #123 in the Terra Alta area will be running on schedule for both afternoon runs based on now being able to obtain a sub driver for the run this afternoon. Sorry for the confusion on this matter.

Over the weekend a member of the youth league tested positive for Covid. If you have a child that is either a player or cheerleader that could’ve been exposed, please contact the health department and follow proper quarantine protocols. They will then provide us with a list of those on quarantine. If exposed at school, you will be notified by us based on that exposure. Those exposed can not return until at least day 7 of the quarantine, which begins day of exposure. They can test Day 5 and then return with negative results or without testing, will need to quarantine for the full 10 days from date of exposure. So if exposed on Saturday the 4th, it would be Tuesday the 14th with a full 10 day.

Just a reminder to talk to your student(s) about the current mask mandate. We will continue to offer those masks or shields who don’t have them, however, those who wish not to take them may remain in the building, but with the risk that if exposed, they will be subject to the current quarantine protocols. Our goal will always be to keep your kids in school, and as of now, the only way to prevent quarantine is to mask up. Any questions or concerns, please contact the principal.

Eagles always step up and fly high together. With the early out, our goal was to ensure, even with the limited time, that all students got fed. With the help of Jen Boni, Lisa Dewitt, Bus Driver Mark Knotts, and our awesome hard-working cooks and custodial staff, we were able to serve hot lunch to all of our students before sending them home on the bus. Our staff always steps up when it comes to the care of our kids. Stay safe. Stay dry. Fly high.
