EVENT DATE CHANGE!!! Due to a shipping issue of items needed for STREAM Night, we unfortunately have to change the date and postpone from Tomorrow the 23rd to Thursday, May 2nd. The time will change and begin at 4:30 and run through 7:00. We will be doing this event in conjunction with our Kick-Off to Testing Illusion Show, so all who attend will also be entertained by "Extreme Illusions and Escapes." We will do STREAM activties from 4:30-5:30. The illusion show will run from 5:30-6:15, then we'll have more STREAM fun until 7. Again, sorry for the change. We hope to have a packed house and see you there.


Preston High School, Preston County Chamber of Commerce, and Preston County EDA will host a student and community career fair on May 2, 2024 from 10 am - 2 pm at Preston High School. Businesses interested in participating must register by 4/22/24. info@prestonchamber.com

During the 4/8/24 meeting of the Preston County Board of Education, the Board was presented with the proposed 2024-25 academic calendar developed by a committee of 17 professional & service personnel employees. This meeting was the first of two required public hearings. The next public hearing is scheduled on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at the PCS Boardroom at 6 PM.

Attention all 8th grade parents: Your child was given a permission slip to participate in the 8th grade tour of Preston High School that will take place on Wednesday, May 1st. We will be leaving Terra Alta school around 8:15am that morning and should return to the school by 1:30pm. Please sign and return the permission slip by April 26th. Thank you!

It's time for a new Beanstack Reading Challenge Preston County! Grab a good book and Hop into Reading. Read, log your minutes, finished books and activities to complete this challenge. This challenge is open to all staff and students. Remember the school with the most minutes per student logged will be the champions. Congratulations to Fellowsville for winning the Preston County Snowball Fight Beanstack reading challenge! They got to enjoy a snowball fight in the gym and their PE class gets to keep the snowballs. Fellowsville also gets to keep the Beanstack Champion Trophy until another school wins a challenge.

Permission slips were sent home today for those who qualified with the 3rd grading period's PBIS reward to go skating at the Civic Center tomorrow. Please sign and return this tomorrow. If on a delay, the trip will still occur.

TAEP:
As of now, we will still plan on hosting our Bingo event tomorrow evening. A decision based on the weather will be made by noon tomorrow. If we do have it, still seats available, so hope to see you all there.


TAEP: We have some exciting upcoming events later in April and in May. First, we have our STREAM Night on April 23rd from 5-7 where parents are invited to come up and participate with their students in learning activities that involve science, technology, reading, engineering, art and math. This is a FREE event and the first 200 participants will get a free shirt. Next will be our state testing kick-off on May 2ndat 6:00. This is the return of Extreme Illusions and Escapes. This is a FREE event and show for families. All will be entertained, then students and parents will go home with testing tips and information on testing. There will also be a student kick-off at 1:00 with a condensed version of the show. If a parent can't make it that evening, let us know and we'll accommodate you that afternoon. Lastly, we'll be recognizing our 8th graders on May 13th at 6:00. More information and RSVPs will be sent home soon.




Brain Freeze Protocols


Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow Thursday, April 4, 2024. Maintenance, mechanics, and custodians report on a regular schedule. Students and all other staff will report on a 2-hour delay.

Just a reminder that this Friday is another Bingo Night Fundraiser. $30 per person includes food and 10 games, with the final game being worth over $200. Doors open at 5:30 with games beginning at 6:00. There will also be an extra 11th game which will be a 50/50 game. 50% of the pot of tickets sold will go to the winner. As always, we appreciate you supporting our students and school.
