With the help of a generous donation, our kindergarten kids went to the Met Theater to watch the Morgantown Children's Theater's production of James and the Giant Peach. What a show! It was so great to see Bruceton School's own Charlie Higgenbottom from the 7th grade performing too!

The next volunteer/chaperone training class will be held Monday, March 23rd at 5:00pm in the library. You'll need to bring a check for $5 made out to the Preston County Sheriff's Department. All other forms and paperwork will be provided at the training. Volunteer/chaperone training and background checks are mandated by the Preston County Board of Education for anyone wishing to chaperone a field trip or volunteer.

Our library is sponsoring a book illustration contest! Here are the details:
• Open to all grades and students at Bruceton School
• Stop by the library to read or preview one of the books to inspire your design.
• Create a new front cover for the book. Make sure to include the Title, Author’s Name, Your Name, and the inside Illustrator’s Name.
• Submit your entry to the library volunteers by April 6th.
• One winning design will be chosen for each of the 10 books.
• Winners will be chosen at the April 14th Academic Boosters Meeting.

PCS Students, the weather is beginning to look like "Sun's Out/Guns Out," Spring is around the corner, and time to chase the Winter Blues away and either maintain or improve your wellness. Announcing the week of March 16th and beginning on the first day of Spring, March 20th, students will be given wellness activities to participate in through May 1st. At that time, verification will be open via a forms and must be fully completed. Winners will be chosen at random from those completing the challenge, which will include verification of activities completed, and a brief summary of an overall wellness program, developed by the student, to continue throughout the Summer. Prizes awarded and delivered by May 8th. All of this made possible through grant-funding specifically for student wellness. If any local or area businesses are interested in sponsoring a staff challenge, please reach out to Justin Hough, PCS Director of Child Nutrition and Communications at jhough@k12.wv.us.
