Bruceton School

We will be holding a chaperone and volunteer training session beginning at 5:00 this Thursday in the cafeteria. Anyone who wants to serve as a chaperone on any field trips or volunteer must complete the training. All the necessary application paperwork and background check forms will be provided at the training session. You must bring a check for $5.00 made payable to the Preston County Sheriff's Department for them to process the background check.

8th Grade Night recognition for 8th grade boys and girls middle school basketball players will be tomorrow (Tuesday) here at Bruceton between the girls and boys games against East Preston. It will be at approximately 6:45 - 7:00pm.

Bruceton Bus Announcement: Bus 17-20, Gary Matthews, will be running the 'B' route this afternoon, Monday, February 2nd. That means students that normally ride that bus will arrive home approximately 45-60 minutes late.

Due to having no in-person school this week and delivery routes being impeded, all schools will be on "Cook's Choice" next week, and we will pick up with the regularly planned menus on February 9th. Each school's Facebook page will have their updated menu for the week.

As of now, following this past week of inclement weather to our state and area, PCS has exhausted all allotted Snow Days and Non-Traditional Instruction (Brain Freeze) Days. Due to the 6th Snow Day called on January 27th, as of now, April 7th is an Instructional Day for Students. Due to the severity of this past weekend's and week's winter storm, if the State Department would choose to grant waivers or exceptions to days' used, we will communicate that and adjust the calendar accordingly.

8th Grade Night recognition for middle school boys and girls basketball players will take place on Tuesday, February 3rd here at Bruceton at approximately 6:45 between the girls and boys games against East Preston.

Due to Randolph County having a traditional snow day tomorrow (Friday), tomorrow's Bruceton boys and girls middle school games against Elkins Middle School are cancelled.

The 8th grade tour of Preston High School has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 3rd.

Preston County Schools will be closed Friday, January 30th & it will be a “Brain Freeze” Day. Students do not report. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other staff reports on a 2-hour delay. All schools will be open from 10 AM- 12 PM for students who need help & lunches will be served from 11AM -12 PM. Extracurricular activities will be permitted with coaches communicating with student athletes and parents about potential optional practice sessions or competitions.
