After School Explorers will be cancelled for the evening of Monday, December 11th due to mandatory staff training.
Applications are now open for this summer's Governor's Schools. These are free residential summer camps and provide wonderful experiential learning opportunities for current 7th and 8th graders. We've had several kids from Bruceton be accepted over the past few years. Information is posted on Schoology and students can also get information from their teachers.

A couple of announcements this evening:
Tonight is the annual Jingle Jam band and choir concert at 6:30 in the gym. Students and parents can stop by the art room anytime between 5:00 and 6:30 for a make-and-take ornament workshop.
The middle school basketball games scheduled at East Preston for December 12th have been rescheduled to Friday, December 8th.
A reminder for parents that drop off and pick up their children that when entering the drop-off/pickup line, you must proceed past the school to the lime shed, turn around, and make a right turn into the school property. Please do not try to cut the line by turning left into the line when it is backed up.
We had 338 students with perfect attendance for the month of November! Today Miss Brooke opened up the prize closet and drew 5 names to reward their great attendance. Congratulations to:

It's quite a feat to accomplish perfect attendance, especially around the holidays and when there's been a lot of illness going around. We'll keep drawing names for perfect attendance each month as well as random surprise daily drawings from time-to-time for students present at school that day.

Today Ms. Holly’s pre-k class was using their imaginations to build and decorate Christmas trees. The students worked on impulse control and learning patience while practicing taking turns with materials and communicating their ideas.

Today wrapped up our Academic Boosters' annual Santa Shop! We want to thank all our amazing volunteers for their help making this possible for the kids. The Academic Boosters and our volunteers always make sure that everything offered at Santa Shop is either at or below cost and ensure that all children are able to shop for their families and friends. Thank you to everyone for their help and support for our kiddos!

Bruceton School now has an 'Elf Surveillance Team' on the loose! Two feisty Elves on the Shelf have unleashed 48 pesky, little elves to roam the halls until the holiday break! Each week we have designated grade levels assigned to find them and bring them back to their watchful perch. Kids who find and return elves to the office can win a prize. This week, grades PK-2 are on the hunt. Next week, it's grades 3-5, and the week of December 18th, it's middle school's turn.
Join us for our annual Jingle Jam concert with the middle school band and choir this Thursday at 6:30. Parents and students can also come by the art room any time beginning at 5:00 for a make-and-take ornament workshop.
It's almost time to choose the new BWF Royalty! Informational meetings will be held on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5 at 6:00 at the Community Building in Kingwood. Any student interested in participating as a junior princess (7th grade) or senior court member (11th grade) must attend one of these meetings. These students must have a 3.0 GPA and no internal or external suspensions. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Darby Rouzee at darby.rouzee@k12.wv.us.

There will be informational meetings for all 7th grade girls who are interested in being a junior princess in the 2024 Buckwheat Festival. The meetings will take place on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5th at 6:00 pm at the Community Building in Kingwood. You must attend one of these meetings if you would like to participate. Just a reminder for any parents who signed their student up for the mobile dentist that they will be here on Wednesday, December 6th.
Just a reminder for 8th grade parents that orders from the holiday wreath/cross sale will be available for pickup this Saturday from 9am-noon at the school loading dock.
We wanted to pass along that December's Academic Boosters meeting that was scheduled for December 12th has been cancelled. The next meeting will be January 9th.
Mrs. Kristin and Ms. Moss' homerooms both earned a Bruce the Bulldog statue for this week for having perfect attendance and no tardies the week before Thanksgiving break. Both classes have been making sure Bruce looks both stylish and regal!
We have some homerooms on track to earn a Bruce statue this week too. We'll find out tomorrow.
