
PCS will be closing schools and going to remote learning effective tomorrow September 14th. Students will return to school on Monday, September 27th. All sports and extra-curricular activities are cancelled.
Teachers were notified late today and will spend Tuesday and Wednesday preparing for full remote learning which begins on Thursday, September 16th. Students may have paper assignments to complete or will have online assignments on Tuesday and Wednesday. Therefore, students should continue to login to Seesaw and Schoology to check for assignments. Students should continue lessons already assigned, practice reading and math skills on iReady (K-8) and Exact Path (9-12) and complete any other lessons assigned by their classroom teachers. Preston County Schools along with over 40 additional businesses are participating in a job fair sponsored by the Preston County Chamber of Commerce at the Kingwood Community Building from 10 AM to 4 PM. Bus #34 (Jason Cramer) in the Bruceton area will be running approximately 20 minutes late on his run this morning.

This is change from an earlier message. At this time, Bus #123 in the Terra Alta area will be running on schedule for both afternoon runs based on now being able to obtain a sub driver for the run this afternoon. Sorry for the confusion on this matter.

Bus #73 driven by Josie Shillito in the Terra Alta area will not run tomorrow, Tuesday, September 7th on the morning or afternoon runs. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

The Covid Testing scheduled at Preston Memorial Hospital on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1:00- 3:00 has been CANCELLED!

Students at the Rowlesburg School will be dismissed at 12 PM today, Thursday, September 2nd due to a planned power outage. This early dismissal will not impact Rowlesburg-area high school students who will dismiss from PHS at their normal time.

Because of several quarantines due to contact tracing, Preston Memorial Hospital will be setting up COVID testing on Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. for those that need to be tested in order to get back in school. Parents must call the COVID hotline at 304.329.7285 to register for the test.

Preston County Schools will be dismissing at approx. 11:30 AM from all schools except Preston HIgh School. Busses from Preston High will be dissmissing as soon they can return to PHS, approx. 12:30-12:45. Student drivers will be dismissed ahead of busses.


We have notification of two student COVID-19 cases, one in Mrs. Reggi's first grade classroom and one in Mrs. Bowmar's Kindergarten classroom. In accordance with district COVID-19 protocols, all students in these two classrooms will be required to quarantine beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, September 1st. All students may return to school on Friday, September 10th or your child can be tested on or after Saturday, September 4th and return with a negative test results on September 7th. The Preston County Board of Education met on August 30, 2021, and issued a mask mandate through September 27, 2021, when the issue will be revisited. If all students are masked, CDC, state board, and local health department guidelines state that an exposed student would not have to be quarantined.
