The Preston County Livestock Association is excited to invite 4-H and FFA members to the first meeting of the year.
Consignment and membership meeting will happen at 6pm on Thursday, March 3rd at the Preston High School theatre. Please note consignments will begin at 5:30pm. Visit www.pclawv.com for more information about the Preston County Livestock Association.
Bus 21-21, Rick Bachtel in the Aurora area will not be running on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
The Preston County Youth Center will be hosting "Youth Night Out" on the first Friday of each month from 6-8:30 PM. Youth of all ages can enjoy an evening of games, crafts, & dinner. In addition, if you are into cheerleading, an NFL cheerleader will be leading a cheer clinic during the event. This program allows parents to enjoy a quiet evening while the youth come hang out at the new Preston County Youth Center. For more information, please contact Lisa Fox at (304) 771-1060.

Preston High School Baseball tryouts will begin on Monday, February 28th at 6 PM with practice taking place immediately after school for the remainder of the week. A physical exam will need to be provided if the student has not participated in other school-sponsored sports this season.

Girls Stags Grades 3 & 4 will begin try-outs Monday, February 21st, from 5:15 to 6:25pm, at Kingwood Elementary School.
Boys Stags Grades 3/4 will begin their try-outs Thursday, February 24th, from 6:15 to 7:30pm, at Central Preston Middle School.
Girls Wildcats Grades 5/6 try-outs begin Monday, February 21st, from 5:15 to 6:25pm, at Central Preston Middle School.
Boys Wildcats Grades 5/6 try-outs will begin Tuesday, February 22nd, from 6:15 to 7:30pm, at Central Preston Middle School.
The Preston County Youth Center will be hosting an Open House to promote their anticipated after-school programming on Monday, Feb 21st at 6pm. Attendees can register their children for the after school program and ask needed questions during the event.

With today being a Brain Freeze Day and being a curricular day, extra-curricular activities may proceed based on improving road conditions. Setup for the County Social Studies Fair will proceed as scheduled from 5-7 PM at the Craig Civic Center. The scheduled Preston High boys' & girls' basketball games will proceed as scheduled as well. In addition, all other high school or middle school athletic teams may practice this evening with practice schedules and times being communicated by individual coaches. However, shuttle buses will not run today. Finally, no ASE activities will occur at district schools this evening.
Preston County Schools will be closed for today, Monday, February 14th, & it’s a “Brain Freeze” day. Students do not report; however, all staff who have not yet reported will report on a 2-hour delay. Students & parents should check their Schoology or Seesaw accounts for assignments. Finally, the status of other extracurricular activities will be announced later today.
Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for today, Monday, February 14th. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, and all other students and staff will report on a 2-hour delay.

Next week, Preston High students will receive information about scheduling their classes for next year. On Thursday, February 17, PHS will have parent/teacher conferences scheduled from 5 – 7 pm. Our counselors will also have a scheduling information session for parents from 5:00 – 5:30 with a time for questions following that. Scheduling will happen the week of February 28. Parents may stop in any time between 5 and 7 to meet with teachers or counselors. Parents can also set up an appointment with their child’s teacher for that time by contacting them via email.
The Preston County Youth Center (PCYC) is seeking input in the interest level of parents at West Preston School and Preston High School who would be interested in their children participating in after school programming at the PCYC. Programming will be offered Monday - Friday after-school until 6 PM and will include tutoring services, physical activities, and a healthy snack.
