Support student attendance and engagement for  healthier community
Preston County Schools celebrated board of education nutrition secretary Cheryl Crane on Wednesday, September 27th, as she retired after 28 years of service. Superintendent Brad Martin and Nutrition Director Beth Doerr thanked Mrs. Crane for her years of service to Preston County Schools calling her a valued employee who will be truly missed. Photograph: Nutrition Director Beth Doerr presented Mrs. Crane with a cake and a rocker donated by staff members in honor of her retirement. BOE Nutrition Secretary Cheryl Crane Retires after 28 years of service
On Monday, September 25th, the Central Preston Middle School Volleyball Team hosted West Preston School in the Buckwheat Volley. CPMS Volleyball Coach Jayme Bishop thanked the Kingwood Volunteer Fire Department for their commitment to the community and their contribution to the Buckwheat Volley Event. Bishop along with assistant coach Lisa Weaver coaches the CPMS Wildcats Volleyball Team (otherwise known for this event as the Wildcakes). Team members are: Maggie Wotring, Kamryn Hayes, Lannen Rouzee, Maryn Shrout, Sophia Flowers, Kendra Rankin, Addie Shaffer, and Kalista Huggins. The West Preston Panthers (called the Panther Patties for this event) is coached by Amanda Rehe. Team members are: Autumn Sisler, Alexis Desantis, Jessica Cooper, Bailey Martin, Peyton Wiles, Caylynn Wolford, Peyton Goldstrom, Ceanna Dewitt, Kathryn Holt, Khloe Williams, Ashlynn McGinnis, Angela Dubon-Montano, and Madison Ashcraft. In addition to the fans in attendance, the Buckwheat Festival Court also made an appearance for photographs with the players (Queen Ceres LXXXI Autumn Wolfe, King Carson Stone, First Maid of Honor Piper Slinka-Petka, Second Maid of Honor Marli Phillips and Escort Evan Keech; not pictured is Escort Alex Burns).

Preston High School students Colson Manko and Margot Cerbone will serve as student board members for the 2023 - 2024 school year. PHS students receive national recognition rural and small-town award
Bruceton School hosted tonight's Board of Education meeting. During the meeting Principal Jonas Knotts recognized school volunteer Brian Sell for countless hours of painting, maintenance work, repair work, etc. He also recognized Rodney and Mary Nieman for their ongoing dedication to the beautification and landscaping of Bruceton School, and Mrs Susan Moran, school secretary, for her dedication and service to Bruceton School.
