Today, our students learned about the Book Blast Program and the importance of having their own books at home. Tonight, we are asking you to take 7 minutes to support our Student Home Library initiative.

Preston County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay for tomorrow, Thursday, January 23rd. Maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, & all other students & staff will report on a 2-hour delay.
All after school and extracurricular activities are permitted today, including practices and games. 1st place science fair winners from East, South, Aurora and Bruceton will practice at KES from 3:30-6. Please bring all required forms. If you can't attend, please notify Mrs. Zigray.
The Parent Teacher Conferences scheduled for Friday have been canceled and will now be held on January 31 from 3:30-5:30.
Attention all 8th grade parents: Your child was given a permission slip to participate in a Career Technical Education tour of Preston High School that will take place this Monday, January 27th. We will be leaving school around 8am that morning and should return to the school before lunch. Please sign and return the permission slip by Friday, Jan. 24th. Thank you!
Preston County Schools will be closed for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22nd & it will be a “Brain Freeze” Day. Students do not report; however, maintenance, mechanics, & custodians report on a regular schedule, while all other staff report on a 2-hour delay. Day-to-day substitute personnel should not to report unless they are specifically directed to do so. All schools will be open from 10 to 12 for students who require assistance. Preston County Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, January 16th. Maintenance, Mechanics, and 240+ custodians report on schedule. All additional 240-day+ employees may report on a 2-hour delay. All other employees and students do not report, and all scheduled extra-curricular activities are postponed.
Due to circumstances and technical difficulties beyond our control with our communications program, which is the reason for parents missing bus calls, we will be placing any and all future bus change calls to the school call lists to ensure no one gets missed. What this means is that if there is a change to a bus in the West Preston area, all West Preston and PHS students will receive that call. This also means, you could receive multiple calls in a row some days. This will only be temporary, and we apologize for those of you, primarily PHS students and parents, who could receive the most calls. Hopefully, better weather is on the way, but in the meantime, we have a plan to remedy the situation, but it will take some time to update all information. We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience. Due to the vast number of recent weather delays and cancellations, report cards will now be distributed on January 31st, as opposed to the original January 24th date. This extra week will allow for teachers to collect student work and enter term 2 grades, so that way the reports are accurate and not missing grades.
